Circularity

Towards circular fashion
For Maje, a garment does not end with its first use. Driven by this belief, the brand offers its own approach to second-hand, repair, rental and product upcycling to extend the life of its creations. A circular approach that transforms the way we experience fashion, reducing its impact and optimising resources.

Upcycling defective items

In line with its ambition to develop circularity, Maje has put in place a rigorous approach for managing defective items, giving damaged, returned or unsellable pieces a second life. In France, three complementary partnerships make it possible to re-add value: Leather items : leather jackets, skirts and trousers are dismantled. The leather is reused by third parties to make new products. Shoes :defective shoes are handled by Revival, which recovers and transforms the materials, notably for products such as cycle paths. Textile ready-to-wear : all non-repairable textile ready-to-wear items are sent to Minot to be transformed into thermal or acoustic insulation for the automotive or construction industries.

Closing the textile loop

Through this system, Maje takes a comprehensive approach to circularity. Upstream, the brand strives to design more sustainable products. During use, it offers repair, second-hand and rental services to extend the life of its creations. Downstream, it ensures that an end-of-life item becomes a resource rather than a waste product.
